From a Burger Restaurant to a Franchise with Matt Frey

This week on Franchise Euphoria, I am doing a throwback to one of my favorite episodes where I had the opportunity to interview Matt Frey. Matt and his wife Rachel are the founders and owners of the wildly successful Bub’s Burgers & Ice Cream, home of the Big Ugly Burger™. We discuss the process that they went through from opening their first restaurant, to opening more locations, and the decision to convert to a franchise model. Key business practices such as branding, employee education, and systemizing are also central topics in this interview!

Started listening to Josh's podcast after the wife and I decided to buy a franchise and I quickly went through about 200 episodes on 1.5x & 2x, before signing on to purchase a franchise. Josh's info was an invaluable part of our decision to buy, and after listening to so many episodes, I felt like I knew and trusted him on a personal level, so it was a no-brainer to enlist his services when it came time to review the franchise agreement.
